Stockton-on-Tees - a hidden gem!

STOCKTON-ON-TEES - ONE OF THE NORTH EAST'S HIDDEN GEMS

A boom town during the Industrial Revolution, Stockton-on-Tees is enjoying another renaissance as a busy commuter town with much to offer. Whether you love the bustle of a town or feel more at home in the beauty of the countryside, you can find it all in and around Stockton.

From here you have easy access to some of the most stunning landscapes in the country. Stockton is close to some of the most beautiful countryside in the area and there are a number of nature reserves dotted along the River Tees, including Bassleton Woods and Thornaby Wood. And only a short drive away you can also explore the nearby stunning North York Moors National Park by bike or on foot.

If you are looking for a night out, there are many bars and restaurants on offer in the town centre. For some retail therapy, Teesside Park in the town is great for shopping as is Wellington Square, Stockton's newest shopping development which is situated at the top of the famous high street and close to all existing shops and amenities. If you fancy taking a day trip to shop or go sightseeing, Middlesborough, Newcastle, Leeds and York are all easily accessible.

These homes have excellent national and international travel links. The site is just five miles west of Middlesborough with access to the A66, A1 (M) and A19.

Durham Tees Valley Airport is 8 miles to the West and there is access to two train stations, Stockton and Thornaby. There is also a direct service into London King's Cross from Darlington, just 20 minutes away on the East Coast mainline.

The homes are well located for local amenities including nurseries, infant and secondary schools. They are also close to two universities, including Durham University, the third oldest university in the country, after Oxford and Cambridge.
