Family move for life by the river in Stockton

A family from Hartburn have found their dream home by the river at the landmark Vivo development at Northshore in Stockton-on-Tees.

David (53) and Glynis (51) Harrison, along with two of their four children Olivia (18) and Alex (20) are now enjoying life at the water’s edge in a brand new four bedroom home from Lovell and sister company Muse Developments.

As well as having direct access to beautiful riverside walks with their two dogs Bella and Dolly, and views of the iconic Infinity Bridge, the family are also taking advantage of being closer to Glynis’ brother who already lives at the Vivo development.

The couple also live closer to their oldest child Sam (27), who is married and lives in Stockton-on-Tees, while their other son Jacob (25) lives in Shetland, Scotland.

Glynis, who works in a school theatre, said: “Before we moved into our new home, David and I were both walking along the river with our dogs. We liked the houses that we saw and were also attracted to living by the river.

“My brother was already living at the development, who highly recommended the houses and living in the area. We have nice views from our home of the river and the Infinity Bridge.”

The Harrison family originally lived in an old Victorian house and they decided that they wanted to live in a brand new house.

David, a project manager, said: “It was nice to move into a new home where all the hard work had been done for us. Two of the bedrooms have an ensuite bathroom which was appealing to us.

“Our new home is very spacious with high ceilings. We also like the additional floor, as we moved from a two storey to a three storey home.”

David and Glynis bought the house off-plan, after being show the plans of the houses.

Hollie Reynolds, Senior Residential Sales and Marketing Manager at Vivo Northshore said: “We love being able to ask buyers to visualise the plans as a completed home and then seeing those plans match. Many times when the buyers see the house for the first time, it exceeds their expectations.”

David and Glynis both like the area because it is quiet by the river, but also central. The homes are within walking distance of Stockton-on-Tees’ town centre.

Glynis concluded: “The riverside and Stockton town centre are being well developed with a new theatre hall and hotel being built in the near future.”

Vivo is part of Muse’s Northshore development, which includes offices and opportunities for leisure, as well as a new Hampton by Hilton Hotel, which is due for completion in July 2018.

David and Glynis have bought a Laken style home, which is a four bedroom, three storey property. They are available to buy from £279,950. Other properties available at the development are priced from £178,950. Located five miles west of Middlesborough, the development has excellent national and international travel links and is close to the A66, A1 (M) and A19.

The marketing suite at Vivo Northshore is open from 10am to 5pm, Thursday to Monday. For more information, visit this website http://www.vivonorthshore.com/ or call 01642 676080.
